Mythology-Monarchy

http://www.greenbiz.com/blog/2011/12/19/ups-and-downs-social-media-sustainability

Social media has taken over most of our lives, in some way we are being social. Facebook, twitter, whats app, msn, all social media that we use to communicate with others. But what are the ups and downs of social media? In this blog i will talk about the ups and downs of Social media, going into depth, with images, diagrams and lots of text. I will cover things such as 'How has it affects today's way of life?' etc.

First of i will talk about the ups of Social media:
UPS

For business, social media is the perfect way to advertise your company. It has the largest audience that you are ever going to be hit and enables you to hit all audiences as well. Conventional methods such as bill boards are still used but are not used as much. In this day in age the use of Facebook, twitter and you tube and generate anything between 1,000 to 100,000,000 views and more. Trailers, websites and even games are released onto the web.

Through the use of Social media and convergence, you cannot escape 'The next big thing'. Apart from the promoting products through social media, it is a good way to share and relieve information. |Take twitter for example... you have the freedom to look at what you want, you can follow, funny, famous, interesting and even more intellectual people around the world.

Another advantage to social media is that you are able to talk to anyone around the world at any time, you can talk to your relatives who are in another country, you can talk to your mates who live across the world somewhere, and you can meet people and talk almost as if your there. You can also use things such as Skype which you can get on your phone and even see the person your talking, and if you have a mic you can even talk to them. Its like the world has gone smaller.  This is a form of real time communication.

DOWNS
Some of the downs for social media is that nothing is private anymore, even when you set yourself to private, people have ways of contacting you...

Also all of the social media is used through new technologies such as computers, ipads, iphones, and lots of other different devices that everyone has, which allows them to use social media. Because of the ease of use of social media, people become less, interactive with people in the real world. They loose interest to talk with there friends as they would rather go on social media websites and talk with far more interesting people on the other side of the world.
As people can pick and choose who they want to communicate with and have far more interesting convo's as was just  said, less and less people are going out as much.

Because of this social media, people become less confident and find it harder to have a conversation face to face, and would rather use text messages and other social media sites to communicate with the people they know.
Social media can be used in many different ways, not only for everyone to communicate with others online, this is the the basics of what is on offer. To many businesses it is a way of doing research / gaining feedback from customers at no cost. This is because they can create a user and then communicate with customers at no cost. and because of the millions of users, it is one of the most affective ways of doing research. From mass media marketing of a new product, to researching what people want out of a product. Instant news, now if people want to know what is going in the world. they don't have to watch the news but can see what is trending. Can be used in education, teachers can set up subject groups on Facebook where homework can be uploaded, or as a way to communicate any inquiries they may have while outside of school, tweeting links to useful revision websites and because of this it allows students to be learning new things everyday by doing what they do everyday "socializing".

Stunt Sketches:
hunger games set hunger games filming Stunt Sketches from The Hunger Games Movie travelingflameffect2 300x370
This one is called the “Traveling Flame Effect.” And besides assuming it has something to do with the wildfire scene in the woods, I haven’t a clue what it’s for.
hunger games set hunger games filming Stunt Sketches from The Hunger Games Movie minesfortributesfoodstash 300x408
This stunt could be for the scene where Katniss blows up the Careers’ food stash. Judging by the nearby water truck and CO2 fire protection, they’re gearing up for a big explosion.
hunger games set hunger games filming Stunt Sketches from The Hunger Games Movie platforms 300x409
Here we’ve got the platforms the Tributes stand on before the gong sounds and all hell breaks loose. It’s hard to say what kind of stunt the bottom sketch indicates, but if I had to take a guess, I’d say some of the Tributes might not even make it from their platform. Below the platform are several “pits” that are marked as being full of cork, mulch, or other soft materials perfect for cushioning the fall of a dead Tribute. Or maybe we’ll be seeing some flips?
