Camera

When the girl comes out of the house the camera changes to an over shoulder shot. With this you can see the direction of which people are talking also the authority in the shot. The over shoulder shot shows the boy at a higher point, showing that he is looking down on the girl. Also another thing to look a is how he instantly turns his head when the man is talking to the boy.

A brilliant shot for camera representing age is 0:40 seconds in. You can see the man right at the front, the boy in the middle and the girl right at the back. This shows that the girl is the least powerful in this scene as she has been put at the back of the shot and people are walking away from her not twards like they are to the man.

Editing

When the old man the headmaster of the school comes into the scene it becomes very slow and less switches between the camera. This shows that when it is the older generations speaking life inst as fast moving and then when the scene with the headmaster is over and he is talking to the young girl about her exams all of a sudden it becomes very fast and switches camera angles pretty fast. Again at the start of the clip when they are in the courtyard and they are getting ready it is very slow and not switching very often but when the young girl comes into the scene it begins to speed up and switch angles again. When the girl comes into the scene it is as if it is speed-ed up like she is racing to do everything.



Sound

When he is speaking to the headmaster one to one he has a more layed back tone of voice as he is speaking to an elder so he is showing his respect, however when he goes out of the room and he is speaking to the young girl he uses a more dominant voice so you can see the power he has over her. When the girl speaks back you can see that it is without respect and power almost as if she feels intimidated by it. Also you can see that the man has changed his voice from layed back to dominating and back t layed back when he is speaking t his wife in the hallway. This shows the use of sound to show age and respect between different generations.


Mise En Scene

The mise en scene in the scene represents age through appearance. The older generations where clothes such as shirts, plain muddy trousers, denim jackets, coats, farmers hats etc, this shows that they fit into the scene & have been working there fore a while.

The younger generations are wearing jeans hoodies, T-shirts etc, almost as if they are out of place and do not fit into the environment. This could fit into how the girl runs away at the end of the clip, as she didn't fit in. where was everyone else did.
